DESCRIPTION:Course Description\nThe Advanced Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) course offered by the Attorney General’s Office is designed for individuals who have completed the Basic CPTED or 5-day CPTED for Schools class which includes plan review\, report writing\, lighting\, zoning\, behavioral management\, etc. Advanced CPTED will expand upon the Basic CPTED / 5-day CPTED for Schools course by incorporating new topics. Special emphasis will be placed on city ordinances and codes\, along with design reviews\, report writing\, and presentation skills. Lighting in relationship to the physical environment and the use of colors in behavioral management will be discussed. This is a “hands on” course which requires a basic understanding of CPTED concepts. Working exercises will be conducted throughout the three days in both the classroom and the field. Student participation is a must in order to successfully complete the class. Class participants will complete a working exercise which will incorporate a CPTED photometric or lighting survey. \n* This course is one of two courses necessary for the Florida Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Practitioner designation. \n** YOU MUST HAVE TAKEN THE AG BASIC CPTED (or 5-day CPTED FOR SCHOOLS) COURSE TO ATTEND. \n **There will be a nighttime lighting exercise on Tuesday evening. SUMMARY:FCPTI Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) for Houses of Worship - December 2025
DESCRIPTION:The CPTED for Houses of Worship is a three-day (24 hour) class specifically designed for individuals who have completed the Basic CPTED class or the 5-day CPTED for Schools class. CPTED for Houses of Worship will evaluate houses of worship and their surrounding properties utilizing Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) strategies. Participants will assess the relationship between the design and the use of space at houses of worship and how it affects criminal activity and human behavior. Students will evaluate the existing physical environment and apply CPTED strategies to reduce opportunities of crime and will meet the facility’s risk management parameters. Course attendees will take part in on-site house of worship CPTED audits. Attendees should be aware that basic CPTED principles are the foundation of this training and will be reviewed as part of the course curriculum. For experienced CPTED attendees\, the first day will be a review of those concepts with an emphasis on houses of worship. This class is recommended for house of worship security teams and safety personnel\, architects\, facility management\, and law enforcement personnel. \n** Prerequisites: This course is part of the CPTED Practitioner Series specifically designed for individuals who have completed the Basic CPTED class or the 5-day CPTED for Schools class. DESCRIPTION:Course Description\nThe Advanced Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) course offered by the Attorney General’s Office is designed for individuals who have completed the Basic CPTED or 5-day CPTED for Schools class which includes plan review\, report writing\, lighting\, zoning\, behavioral management\, etc. Advanced CPTED will expand upon the Basic CPTED / 5-day CPTED for Schools course by incorporating new topics. Special emphasis will be placed on city ordinances and codes\, along with design reviews\, report writing\, and presentation skills. Lighting in relationship to the physical environment and the use of colors in behavioral management will be discussed. This is a “hands on” course which requires a basic understanding of CPTED concepts. Working exercises will be conducted throughout the three days in both the classroom and the field. Student participation is a must in order to successfully complete the class. Class participants will complete a working exercise which will incorporate a CPTED photometric or lighting survey. \n* This course is one of two courses necessary for the Florida Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Practitioner designation. \n** YOU MUST HAVE TAKEN THE AG BASIC CPTED (or 5-day CPTED FOR SCHOOLS) COURSE TO ATTEND. \n **There will be a nighttime lighting exercise on Wednesday evening.
